Device Protection Plan Information

  • Lakeville Area Schools offers an optional protection plan for district-issued iPads as part of our 1:1 student learning initiative.

    Annual Cost: $25 per student
Reduced price options are available based on Educational Benefit Status.

Coverage begins upon receipt of the payment. Payment must be submitted by October 1, to have coverage for the school year.  New families joining the district will have 2 weeks from enrollment to add coverage.

The protection plan does not cover lost devices and lost/stolen/damaged/inoperable charging cords.

Any damage or technical issues must be reported through our Incident IQ ticketing system. In cases of theft or other criminal acts, a police report, or fire report in the case of fire, MUST be filed by the student or guardian for this protection coverage to be utilized. A copy of the police/fire report must be provided to the Principal’s Office. If your device has a case, removing it will void this plan.

Device Maintenance

  • Please review the following tips for device maintenance with your child:

    • Do not lend your device to another person. It is recommended that only you login and use your device.

    • Never leave a device unattended. When not in your personal possession, the device should be in a secure, locked environment.

    • Never expose a device to long-term temperature extremes or direct sunlight. An automobile is not a good place to store a device.

    • Do not eat or drink around your device.

    • Keep your cover on the device at all times.

    • Avoid putting weight on the device.

    • The device and case must remain free of stickers, writing, painting, or any other forms of adornment.

    • Charge your device every night and keep your charger at home.

    • Care must be exercised when plugging and unplugging accessories. Please remove these before transporting your device to another classroom, to and from school, or inside your home.

    • The device can be cleaned with a soft, slightly water-dampened, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in the openings. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean the device. The device should be powered down before any cleaning.

If your device is damaged or if you are experiencing any issues, please report this by filling out a ticket with Incident IQ Tech support at p.
