In the exciting months leading up to kindergarten, parents and their children will be able to attend several information events. Parents/guardians are invited to learn about the Lakeville kindergarten experience every fall, winter and spring. 

This event is all about your child. This child-centered event will vary from building to building. Just like the Kindergarten Information Nights, schools will reach out to families directly with details about Spring into Kindergarten.

Families are encouraged to contact their building with any questions. 

*Please Note: On Feb. 27, 2024, the Lakeville Area Schools Board of Education approved K-8 attendance area adjustments model D3 after several months of designing updated school boundaries with stakeholder input. The school boundary adjustments are necessary in order to address capacity issues across K-8 schools and to open the District's newest school, Highview Elementary. Boundary adjustments for grades K-8 will take effect beginning in the 2024-25 school year, while high school boundaries remain unchanged.

Not sure which school your child is assigned to attend for the 2024-25 school year? To confirm your student's school assignment, most families can enter their home address using the 'Interactive Attendance Area Map Tool' below. 

 The fall events have been completed. An informative presentation about the Lakeville Area Schools kindergarten experience is available below for any families who may have missed this opportunity.

• Elementary school principals will share a general overview of kindergarten, including readiness and expectations. The content at these events will be the same across all elementary schools. Please check below for upcoming January events for families.

Kindergarten Welcome Event Presentation Slides

This second welcome and information event for parents/guardians will be held in person by the school your child will attend. Parents/guardians at Kindergarten Information Night will have an opportunity to meet the principal and kindergarten teachers at their building. Representatives from Kid Zone, district nurses, and Schmitty & Sons Bus Company representatives will be available to answer questions.

Each school will reach out directly to families about this event, but families are encouraged to contact their building with any questions.
