Lakeville Area Schools has a Students of the Month recognition program that highlights an elementary, middle school and high school student each month. Students are nominated by staff members. The superintendent meets each student to present them with a recognition award and a gift bag donated by the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce and Visit Lakeville.
February's Students of the Month are:
Kenna Gentz, 4th grade, Lake Marion Elementary School
Nominated by Emily Gosen, School Psychologist at Lake Marion Elementary.
“I am nominating Kenna because she demonstrates daily kindness and responsibility. She is kind to everyone, a good friend to others, and works hard in class. She participates in class and is loved by her teacher and classmates. She spends her free time helping at her mom's daycare with the children there and teaching them how to be safe, kind, and responsible. She demonstrates leadership through her role as bus patrol on her bus. She is patient, fun, and friendly to all. She is a role model and very deserving of this award.”
Sabirin A. Mohamed, 12th grade, Lakeville North High School

“Sabirin consistently demonstrates respect for both her peers and teachers. She always wears a big smile while walking in the hallways, and her disposition and manners never fail to impress me. Sabirin is a kind and considerate student who consistently makes good choices during school and always avoids chaos. Her dedication to her studies makes her a role model for other students. I am continuously impressed by her actions, so I nominate her as the student of the month.”
Peter Vitelli, 8th Grade, McGuire Middle School

“Peter has been working very hard this year and putting in his best effort. I am so proud of how he has kept himself motivated to keep his grades up and is always willing to help a friend in need. Keep up the excellent work Peter, I am so proud of you!”
