Students of the Month: October 2023

October 6, 2023

Lakeville Area Schools has a Students of the Month recognition program that highlights an elementary, middle school and high school student each month. Students are nominated by staff members. The superintendent meets each student to present them with a recognition award and a gift bag donated by the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce and Visit Lakeville.

October's Students of the Month are:

October Students of the Month: Ellie Lind, Solane Abdissa, and Kardon Schultz

Ellie Lind, 1st Grade, Christina Huddleston Elementary

"Ellie is an incredibly kind first grader. She is always willing to help her friends and teachers alike. She comes to school every day with a smile on her face and is always excited to learn. She is responsible and always willing to try new things. She is a fantastic student and even better friend. Ellie's kindness extends beyond the classroom as well; she's the friend who is always there with a supportive ear and a helping hand. Her genuine caring nature makes her an exceptional friend who brightens the lives of those around her." said Ms. Stephanie Thesing.

Solane Abdissa, 7th Grade, McGuire Middle School

Nominated by Ms. Kari Schultz, McGuire Middle School Math Teacher

"Solane is a new student this year. She made an impact on every one of her teachers in the 1st week of school. She is bright, articulate, inquisitive and does an amazing job of working with others. Other teachers have said she is a curious, inquisitive, hard-working, and dedicated student who puts her all into everything she does. She always has a smile on her face and is so friendly to all. I absolutely love how a brand new student has such an impact on all of her teachers right from the start. She is just awesome." said Ms. Kari Schultz.

He comes prepared to class connects, submits work on time, advocates for himself when questions arise and most importantly, takes leadership of his own individualized learning. His written work includes detailed, well-developed answers that he connects broadly to other areas of learning. His genuine and enthusiastic love of learning is evident in all his classes." said Ms. Lauren Fox.
