District and School Social Media User Guidelines

  • All district and school social media pages are for the sharing of information and news about the district for students, staff, families and the community. All comments posted on our social media pages are able to be seen by all members of our school community, including our students, and anyone who may choose to view the page. It is the responsibility of our entire community to act as role models for our students and we ask that you join us to demonstrate respectful online dialogue, even about controversial topics. 

    District and school social media page participants are expected to treat each other with respect. Comments or posts will be removed if they violoate any School District policy, which includes personal attacks; vulgar or abusive language; offensive terms that target any specific race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, disability, sexual orientation, age, family care leave status or veteran status; threats or terms that incite violence; share personal information about students, staff or other commenters; pornography; promote services or products; election campaigning, or are clearly off topic. We reserve the right to block or remove content or followers whose participation on this page is deemed malicious or violates these guidelines.

    Lakeville Area Schools is not responsible for user-generated content on district or school social media pages. The opinions expressed in user-generated content do not reflect those of Lakeville Area Schools.

    We always encourage you to share your perspectives, opinions, and questions regarding school district topics and/or issues directly with our Administration and/or Board of Education.
