Dual Credit Info

  • “Dual Credit” refers to all courses that allow students to earn both high school and college credit while the student is still in high school.  There are a variety of ways our LSHS students can earn dual credit:  

    :  AP courses are college level courses offered in high school.  College Board offers AP courses in the following subject areas:

    • Arts
    • English
    • History & Social Sciences
    • Mathematics & Computer Sciences
    • World Languages & Cultures

    Lakeville South offers a majority of those classes and at times, Lakeville North may offer others that would be available to our students as well.  Students can possibly earn both high school and college credit by passing the course and scoring successfully on the respective College Board AP exam which is taken in the Spring of each year after completing the course. Many colleges will award college level credit if a student earns a score of three or higher on the AP exam (AP scores range from 1-5 points).  Acceptance varies by institution and possibly major of study also.  Please check with the school(s) you are considering attending.  More information can be found on the College Board's AP website, .

    Concurrent Enrollment:  Concurrrent enrollment courses are college-level courses taught in high school. Concurrent enrollment courses are college level courses taught in high school. Some schools recognize some concurrent enrollment courses by the name "College Now" or "College in the Schools".  Visit our Concurrent Enrollment page for more detail on this option.
     
    Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO):  Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) allows students to earn college credits while still enrolled in high school. PSEO students attend college classes, do not pay tuition, and earn both high school and college credits.  Visit our PSEO page for more detail on this option.
