Lakeville Area Schools has a Students of the Month recognition program that highlights an elementary, middle school and high school student each month. Students are nominated by staff members. The superintendent meets each student to present them with a recognition award and a gift bag donated by the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce and Visit Lakeville.
March's Students of the Month are:
Zachary Delmont, 5th grade, Lakeview Elementary
Nominated by Heather Forsyth, Part-Time cook.
“Zachary is so polite and says thank you to every single lunch employee working when he comes through the line every day. He will say thank you to the staff serving and the staff ringing up. He is just always so courteous and sincere to our entire staff. It brightens our day.”
Mya Sharpe, 7th grade, Lakeville Online Academy
Nominated by Sarah Dang, middle school Science Teacher at Lakeville Online Academy.
“Mya is a hardworking, rockstar 7th grade student at Lakeville Online Academy. She has such a joyful attitude and a zeal for learning. She does a fabulous job advocating for herself online and setting up Webex meetings with her teachers when she wants to go through an assignment. She asks great clarifying questions during our meetings, and is always so kind and polite.”
Lauren Osborn, 11th grade, Lakeville South High School
Nominated by Angie Bibro, Instructional Coach.
“Lauren is an amazing student who has chased her dream of becoming a baker, and included her teachers along the way! In seventh grade she created a baking magazine called “Foody’s”, highlighting her recipes. She always said one day she would be designing cakes at a bakery. Today she’s a junior at LSHS, working at a Lakeville bakery making the most beautiful cakes. She is a perfect example of hard work and talent coming together, and the Lakeville community benefiting! All of us who have been fortunate enough to have her in class know big things are in store for her!”
